Since it has been raining NON STOP here for days, I thought this might be the perfect book to review today. This is the story of what went on at night on Noah’s ark. Naamah, Noah’s wife, would go from animal to animal and check on them and sing them to sleep until she, too, finally succumbed to the darkness and fell asleep next to Noah.
This story is actually a lullaby and is the perfect peaceful story to read at bedtime.

This is a very adorable book about a little blue truck and all of his animal friends. Little Blue Truck gets stuck in the mud and all of his animal friends use teamwork to rescue him and another big truck that’s stuck in the mud. If your little one likes farm animals and/or trucks, then they will love this cute rhyming book.

We haven’t had enough books for the four and under set lately on MommaReads and this is a great one to start with. It has flaps! My boys loved flap books when they were little and this one would have gone over famously with them. Your little one will love this as they uncover what all of the critters in this book like to eat.

Elephant’s bullying starts a chain of events that leads to Hippo being unkind to Lion and Lion snarling at Leopard and Leopard not being nice to Monkey. With the help of his mom, Monkey stands up for himself and talks to Leopard about his unkind words. Then Leopard think about what Monkey said and goes and talks to Lion and on and on until everyone’s wrongs have been righted.
This book would be a great talking tool to use with kids about being kind to others and how to handle situations on the playground or in their neighborhood when others are unkind to them.

Wow! I LOVE this book. First of all, the illustrations are PHENOMENAL!!! This is one of the most gorgeous books I have read in a very long time. This is a great bedtime book as birds, frogs, cows, tigers and other furry creatures settle their own little ones in for the night. This book would also make a great gift for a new parent…a great baby shower gift perhaps.

All of the things a child could kiss…a pig? A skunk? A mop? A snake? A bird? A mouse? Your little one will love all of the animals in this book and also get a chuckle from some of the illustrations. In the end, the little boy kisses his daddy goodnight which is a way better thing to kiss than a mop. 🙂 A very cute rhyming story with a sweet ending.

A very cute rhyming book that talks about all kinds of animals that are easy to hug…bunnies, cats, dogs, even pigs. But how to you hug a porcupine? The boy in the story comes up with all kinds of different ways to protect himself from the prickly porcupine, but in the end, it’s the porcupine who comes up with the best solution. This is a fun every day book and would be a cute Valentine’s Day book as well.

All of the animals on the farm love the kisses that their parents give them. If your child is in that stage right now where they love farm animals, this would be a great book for them.

The mama animals have put their babies down to sleep for the night so they decide to have a barn dance while the little ones sleep. Each of the mamas ends up getting tuckered out and crawling into bed with their little ones and once the little ones notice that the mamas are all asleep they get up and have their own dance party. This is a super cute book and it rhymes…I am a sucker for cute books with a good rhyme.

This is a great counting book and it’s also fun because as the hunter (who never seems to be able to see the animals that are hiding from him) is looking for the animals, your little reader will have fun trying to guess which animals are hiding in the background. The best part is the end when the hunter finally sees the animals and they are all following him. Again, great for counting…”1 hunter”, “2 elephants”, “3 giraffes”, etc. but fun and interactive as well.
